Our Story

We met in 2023 at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ilesa, during the hustle and bustle of house job. Somehow, we connected effortlessly, discovering that we had many things in common, but one of the greatest was our love for God and our shared desire to diligently do His will.

What began as a simple connection gradually blossomed into something beautiful. Through conversations, friendship, laughter, and the many little moments we shared, our bond grew into something neither of us could have fully anticipated.

One thing led to another, and today, by God’s grace and leading, we are here—together, in love, grateful for how far He has brought us, and deeply thankful that our paths crossed when they did.

As we look ahead, our hearts are filled with gratitude and anticipation. We are excited to begin this beautiful journey of forever, trusting the same God who brought us together to lead us, keep us, and write every chapter of our story in His perfect will.

A marriage built on shared culture alone may still fail, but a marriage built on a shared submission to God has a far stronger foundation for love, unity, and endurance.

A Young Man's Hopeful Prayer

Am I really ready to undertake this journey?

To be bound to a damsel in holy matrimony?

Do I have what it takes to build a godly home?

Will my seeds meet harsh sand or fertile loam?

I have seen people have marriages that are thorny

Many of them claim it’s a result of having little money

Others say they simply ran out of patience and love

Their marriages folded when life threw them a curve

And life is notorious for frequently throwing those

It is certain that we will have times of highs and lows

What can make any marriage stand the test of time?

What can keep a couple devoted way past their prime?

I don’t doubt that I love her, I know I do

But many divorced couples made this claim too

They went from “madly in love” and ” I can’t live without you”

To “Let’s get divorced, our ‘irreconcilable differences’ are not few”

I have given these questions quite some thought

And this is my conclusion, believe it or not

Marriage is less of a playground for games and a fun fair

And more of a battleground for life’s serious warfare

Will my marriage be able to weather the storms?

Will we be able to tackle whatever comes?

Will my marriage add to the burgeoning divorce statistics?

My thoughts race as my heart echoes with fearful acoustics

I must get these troubling thoughts to leave

I shouldn’t be thinking about this on my wedding eve

I know that I am about to become a married man

But this too is in fulfilment of God’s elaborate plan

I was diligent in seeking to hear His voice

While in the process of making this momentous choice

God gave her to me, like He gave Boaz, Ruth

This I know to be the simple truth

I know this does not mean there’ll be no challenges

We will face storms like all other marriages

But I can rest easy and be at peace

For with me is the One who can make storms cease

I can confidently step out tomorrow to claim my bride

For the word of God and His Spirit will be our guide

I know that both of us will sometimes make mistakes

But the threefold cord of God, my bride, and I has all it takes

The world has sold us a lie about marriage. Fairy tale movies and social-media hot takes on marriage have quietly replaced God’s order. Everyone says love feels like butterflies in your stomach but no one talks about what to actually DO when the feelings fade.

As a young man, I once read a preacher say that he gave his wife a peck before every meal to ensure things were okay between them. I remember thinking, “What is difficult about that? Of course I would gladly kiss my
spouse all the time.” Then I got married.

Very quickly, I learned that marriage is nothing like the fantasies we create in our minds, It takes self-control, humility—the real fruit of the Spirit—to show affection and kindness continually, to someone who has offended you, or whom you are upset with. Marriage is beautiful, but it is also deeply and embarrasingly cleansing. How? Marriage exposes thingswithin you that warm feelings and sermons alone cannot fix. There’s nowhere to hide within marriage and so it forces you to adapt or fail.

As a pastor of many young adults, the Holy Spirit began to lead me to teach on marriage with a clearer, sharper focus. I saw that beyond trauma and demonic attacks, which are real and a major destroyer of marriages, the greatest enemy of marriage is ignorance and misinformation. A lot of that will be confronted and corrected in this devotional which was first published daily, beginning in April 2023. For about the whole 365 day year, I sat awake till between midnight and 6am to ensure our people had it available to pray with on waking.

Many step into marriage carrying unrealistic expectations, unbalanced ideas, cultural pressures, emotional wounds, and half-truths. When you are not taught properly, you expect what does not exist, demand what no human can give, and assume what God never promised.
This book also includes special segments called Parapets—practical boundaries for protecting your heart, purity, emotions, relationships, and
spiritual life. These sections are new and were not part of the earlier daily bits online from 2023-2025.

There are Days of Prayer sessions included that you can scan the QR codes to join on YouTube or Telegram. Many who joined experienced powerful encounters: deliverances, emotional healing, clarity, the lifting of burdens, and testimonies of restoration.

My prayer is that as you go through these pages, the Holy Spirit will teach, correct, heal, strengthen, and prepare you for a godly, joyful, and
lasting marriage. May God make beautiful what you already have, bless what you want, and even restore what you have lost. May lies be broken, expectations align with truth, and every area of your life be surrounded with God’s wisdom.

There are people praying for a miracle.
Sometimes, we are the answer to that prayer.
God has blessed us not simply so we can keep what is in our hands, but so we can become a blessing to someone else.

A meal.
A school fee.
A medical bill.
A helping hand.
A reason for someone to believe that God has not forgotten them.
